Research on Lightweight Safety Monitoring System for Deep Foundation Pit of Comprehensive Transportation Hub

With the development of the economy and increasing demand for modern transportation, the transportation infrastructure is moving towards the development of comprehensive transportation hubs that are integrated and interconnected. Safety issues during the construction and operation of these hubs have always been a concern and require effective monitoring and management methods. In this paper, a lightweight safety monitoring system for deep foundation pit (LMSoDFP) of a comprehensive transportation hub was developed using lightweight BIM platforms and Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Through on-site sensing equipment, multiple sources of data can be collected in real time and integrated into the lightweight platform. With a lightweight model, the monitoring data were visualized with a 3D model. The LMSoDFP also supports mobile services for regulatory personnel for real-time monitoring and management. This paper verifies the effectiveness of the LMSoDFP using a case study of a transportation hub in Chengdu.
