Design of Overloaded Truck Control Solution Based on Highway Overloading Detection Stations and Points

Highway overloading detection stations or points (HODSs or HODPs) play a crucial role in ensuring safety as law enforcement facilities responsible for detecting, investigating, and dealing with overloaded trucks. In this paper, a regional highway network is separated into highway trunk network (HTN) and highway branch network (HBN) based on the road level. For each fixed HODS on the HTN, there are several mobile HODPs on the surrounding HBN to augment law enforcement. This study employs indicators from four aspects for the overloading problem on HTN. The entropy weight-TOPSIS approach is utilized to identify the most significant section to build up the HODS. On HBN, the overloading detection path planning problem is transformed into the CVRP problem. Subsequently, the overloading detection path planning model is formulated and solved using the simulated annealing algorithm. Finally, an arithmetic example is analyzed. The solution designed provides integrated planning and a more efficient strategy for overloading problems.
