Research on Carbon Emissions Factor and Carbon Emissions Reduction Based on the Individual Travel Chain
In order to promote green travel and reduce the operation intensity of private cars, this paper proposed a calculation method of carbon emissions reduction. Based on the given individual travel chain, the bottom-up calculation method was adopted to calculate the carbon emissions. The influences of line, vehicle, season, and vehicle load rate on carbon emissions factors were particularly considered to establish the carbon emissions factor table. Beijing was adopted as an example, and the carbon emissions factor table for subway, bus, and private car was established. Several volunteers’ travel chain data were selected to calculate the carbon emissions reduction of typical scenarios, e.g., private car and public transport. Compared to the existing Beijing method, this paper provided a better accuracy in carbon emissions calculation due to carbon emissions factor table. In addition, the carbon emissions reduction potential of departure time, travel distance, and terminal connections was analyzed.
