The immune status of calves was studied in the first two months after birth. The calves were assessed for the degree of Ig transmission from mother to offspring and it was found that out of 2859 calves assessed, only 5.2% were classified as "excellent" transmission, 11.8% were classified as "good", 17% as "satisfactory" and 66% as "poor". The IgG content in blood serum and the proportion of calf mortality were analyzed depending on the ambient temperature.
