THE EFFECT OF COW LONGEVITY ON THE EFFICIENCY OF THE BREEDING PROCESS IN THE HERD
The influence of the duration of economic use of cows on the results of breeding work per generation has been determined. With a reduction in longevity by 0.6 lacts. in one generation, the indicators of lifelong milk productivity decrease by 10-12%, the variability of traits – by 4.3%, and the proportion of animals suitable for selection into the leading group of the herd – by 7.3%.
