CONJUGATE VARIABILITY OF ECONOMICALLY USEFUL SIGNS OF CATTLE
Correlations between economically useful parameters of Holstein cattle (Russian breeding) are considered. When selecting the first heifers by milk yield, it is possible to predict an increase in the absolute yield of fat and protein and an increase in the duration of the period from calving to fruitful insemination. The selection of cows by fat content simultaneously leads to an increase in protein levels in milk. Animal breeding by live weight is ineffective in farming conditions.
