Conventional and Molecular Cytogenetic techniques used for clinical Diagnosis
In recent decades, cytogenetic techniques for chromosome analysis and their link to human diseases have advanced significantly. These methods facilitate the study of key biological issues, including the origins of inherited disorders, genomic variations associated with various diseases, and the structural organization of the human genome. This poster focuses on both conventional and molecular cytogenetic methods used for clinical diagnosis.Conventional techniques include karyotyping for chromosome visualization and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) for detecting chromosomal abnormalities.Molecular methods, such as comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) for chromosomal gains and losses, and chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) for high-resolution detection of imbalances, are also discussed.
