Comparison Between Time Series and Relational Databases

This paper proposes using time series databases instead of relational databases for monitoring the distributed systems utilized in surface and underwater platforms developed by Havelsan. Within the scope of this study, it has been observed that time series databases, such as InfluxDB and Prometheus, exhibit significantly shorter query return times in the Grafana visualization tool and occupy considerably less disk space compared to relational databases like MySQL
