Gamification as a Tool for Personalized Learning in Inclusive Education
Gamification is the highest priority in the field of education, especially in the context of inclusive education. It provides the opportunity to create personalized educational programs and encourage enthusiasm for their execution. The implementation of novel gamification tactics can significantly improve educational results and meet the diverse needs of learners in inclusive education. However, research on the utilization of gamification to increase educational inclusion is lacking. This study conducted a comprehensive literature review to present a succinct overview of the research findings and discussions on personalized gamified inclusive education. Our review represents an important contribution to the development of gamification in inclusive education, providing an up-to-date state of the art on the use of gamification as an educational technology capable of addressing the needs of all educational participants, including persons with disabilities. To ensure a full understanding of this research area, a systematic literature review was conducted by analyzing 348 publications covering the period from 2013–2024 on the basis of data from SpringerLink, Scopus and IEEE Xplore database. The methodological stages of the study included planning the review, searching, analyzing the literature and presenting the results. The results of this systematic review emphasize the importance of gamification ins upporting educational inclusion and highlight the need for further research to develop and implement gamification strategies to help overcome barriers and support inclusive education.
