Curriculum and Implications of German Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Education for Human Factors Engineering Courses in Rehabilitation Engineering Program
Undergraduate mechanical engineering (ME) education in Germany enjoys a good reputation internationally, with human factors engineering (HFE) typically being an important course within this program. This paper aims to explore the curriculum of HFE courses within the rehabilitation engineering (RE) program at University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) through an analysis of similar courses in German ME education. By identifying deficiencies in the curriculum and areas for improvement in teaching, specific optimization measures are proposed.
