Simulation and Experiment of Metal Particle Motion Behavior in SF6 Gas under AC Superimposed Impulse Voltage
Gas insulated switchgear (GIS) is widely used in power grids, but equipment failures caused by various defects have been threatening the safe and reliable operation of GIS. There have been many insulation failures caused by metal particles in the engineering site. Under the action of strong electric field, metal particles move freely in GIS and show various motion behaviors, and induce field intensity distortion and partial discharge in different motion states, which seriously threatens the operation safety of GIS. In this paper, the motion trajectory model of free metal particles established based on the finite element method and the AC superimposed impulse voltage partial discharge test platform were built to study the partial discharge and motion behavior of metal particles under AC superimposed impulse voltage in SF<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">6</inf> gas. The force and partial discharge results of the particles were analyzed, and the small amplitude random jumping behavior of metal particles was investigated experimentally. And the randomness of motion behavior is analyzed.
