Scheme for automatics transfer switch without splitting new energy source
With the large-scale integration of photovoltaics into the power grid, traditional automatic transfer switch device may fail to operate correctly. Traditional solutions can lead to a decrease in energy utilization efficiency of photovoltaic power plants. Another solution can result in significant impulse current during grid connection in the case of a mismatch between the source and load. This article focuses on the situation where the source is greater than the load, adopting the perturbation and observation (P&O) method to control the duty cycle of the Boost circuit in the photovoltaic array. When the output power approaches the target value after applying a disturbance, continue to apply the disturbance in that direction. Conversely, apply a disturbance in the opposite direction, so that the output power of the photovoltaic array continuously approaches the load power, achieving the goal of minimizing the impulse current during grid connection. Finally, through simulation experiments, compare the impulse current generated during grid connection by adopting the traditional solution and the solution using P&O method after a fault. The simulation results show that the solution using P&O method can reduce the inrush current during grid connection.
