Design and Image Enhancement Research of an Embedded Finger Vein Imaging Acquisition System
Finger vein recognition technology has attracted widespread attention in the field of biometrics due to its high security and reliability in recent years. The key of finger vein recognition is the acquisition of finger vein image. Focusing on this issue, an embedded finger vein imaging acquisition system is designed for convenient identification, which is of good cost-performance ratio and strong real-time capability. The system uses the STM32F407ZGT6 as the main control chip and captures the infrared light illuminated by the finger vein through the OV2640 module for imaging. The collected finger vein images are then transmitted to the PC in real-time via USB communication. However, considering the uneven absorption of near-infrared light by the finger joint structure, which leads to issues such as uneven illumination, low contrast, and blurred edge details in the images, this study conducted research on image enhancement, such as image preprocessing and edge extraction, to facilitate the establishment of subsequent high-quality recognition model.
