Design of low power consumption icing monitoring system for transmission lines
In China, the icing monitoring of transmission lines in remote areas depends on the image recognition of video equipment, which leads to the problem of high power consumption of icing monitoring system. In this paper, the core of ice-coating triggering and wakefulness mechanism is applied, the low-power long-distance communication technology of LoRa is introduced. The high-precision micro-weather sensor data is used as the triggering source, wake up the dormant video device into working mode to complete the accurate identification of ice thickness. Then, upload the monitoring results to the cloud platform, in order to carry out subsequent anti-ice measures. Based on the trigger mechanism, the ice-covering monitoring system does not need the camera to be in working mode all the time, which can greatly reduce the power consumption of data transmission, data processing, energy supply and so on. The experimental results show that the daily average power consumption of the system is significantly lower than that of the traditional monitoring and setting system under the low power consumption mode, it is proved to be effective in reducing energy consumption and cost.
