The clinical efficacy of dynamic balance training instrument in the treatment of Pusher syndrome after stroke

Pusher syndrome, characterized by a postural bias and resistance to correction after stroke, significantly hinders functional recovery. This study evaluates the clinical efficacy of a dynamic balance training instrument in 58 elderly patients with post-stroke Pusher syndrome from September 2023 to June 2024. Patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. All 29 patients in each group received routine rehabilitation training. On this basis, the treatment group increased the dynamic balance training with Tecnobody S.r.l's system. The Trunk Control Test (TCT), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Modified Barthel Index (MBI), and SCP scale assessed trunk control, balance, ADL ability, and tilt degree, respectively. Results: After 3 weeks and 6 weeks of treatment, all of the scores of TCT, BBS and MBI were significantly improved compared with those before treatment in both groups <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$(\mathrm{P} < 0.05)$</tex>; After 3 weeks of treatment, the score of TCT in the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$(\mathrm{P} < 0.05)$</tex>; After 6 weeks of treatment all of the scores in the treatment group were significantly better than those in the control group <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$(\mathrm{P} < 0.05)$</tex>. Conclusion: Dynamic balance training instrument combined with routine rehabilitation training can significantly improve the trunk control ability, balance function and the ability of activity of daily living of patients with Pusher syndrome after stroke.
