Analysis of the transmission characteristics of voltage fluctuations in the power grid and rapid response prediction

The new power system exhibits the characteristic of multiple time-scale processes being mutually coupled, with voltage issues serving as a vital link to various safety and stability concerns. The importance of voltage safety and stability assessment is increasingly evident. Presently, the primary approach to voltage stability assessment is conducted through electromechanical transient simulation or electromagnetic transient simulation, which is accompanied by issues of unclear mechanisms and slow efficiency. There is a lack of systematic research on the mechanisms of overvoltage generation and propagation in the power grid, as well as a deficiency in fast assessment methods for voltage safety issues. This paper proposes an analytical expression for the voltage fluctuation propagation process, identifies indicators for evaluating the propagation capacity of voltage fluctuations in the power grid, and presents a rapid prediction and assessment method for voltage safety issues.
