Analysis of control strategies for full-power pumped storage units under multiple operating conditions
Traditional fixed-speed pumped storage units are constrained by their inability to vary power output during pumping, restricting them to operating at full load. This limitation hampers their capacity to effectively respond to grid frequency regulation needs. Studies on variable-speed pumped storage units with full-power capability are still in the early phases of exploration. This paper firstly analyses the structure of the fullpower pumped storage unit, then builds the basic model of a power station full-power variable-speed pumped storage unit in a Simulink simulation environment, proposes the start-up debugging method, and verifies the validity of the control strategy and debugging method.
