High-temperature superconducting energy storage technology for new diversified power systems
Given the escalating shortage of fossil energy and the worsening environmental pollution, the development and utilization of renewable energy have emerged as the primary focus of global energy development. However, the diversification of energy access to power systems will bring challenges in terms of stability and supply-demand balance. The rapid development of electric vehicles and the growth of global energy demand further exacerbate the complexity. High-temperature superconducting energy storage technology, with its high efficiency and fast energy storage characteristics, exhibits great application potential in stabilizing fluctuations, improving stability and power supply quality, optimizing energy distribution, and reducing transmission losses. The research and application of high-temperature superconducting materials provide support for it, and commercial applications have become a realistic possibility. As renewable energy progresses and the energy structure evolves, high-temperature superconducting energy storage technology is anticipated to play a crucial role in shaping a new, diversified power system and fostering an intelligent, efficient, and sustainable energy supply system.
