Leveraging Advanced Farm Monitoring Technologies to Achieve Sustainable Agriculture: Aligning with SDG 12, SDG 13, and Malaysia's Strategic Goals
This study develops a corn farm monitoring system using LoRaWAN technology and the Arduino ESP32 microcontroller to monitor soil temperature, moisture, and pH in real time, particularly in remote areas such as Tanjong Karang, Selangor. The system is designed to overcome challenges in traditional monitoring that require intensive effort and lack real-time data. The methodology includes installing sensors strategically and using solar panels to ensure continuous operation. The collected data is transmitted via LoRaWAN and displayed using the Blynk application. The results show that this system provides accurate data for managing irrigation, adjusting fertilizer usage, and improving crop yields. The system enhances farm management efficiency and supports sustainable and resilient agricultural practices. Additionally, it aligns with the National Agro-Food Policy and Malaysia's sustainable development initiatives, supporting sustainability and climate action goals.
