Sustainability of Water Supply for Orang Asli in Royal Belum State Park: Field Study Insights
This field study explores the water supply needs of the Orang Asli communities in Royal Belum State Park, Malaysia. By examining their current water sources and assessing their adequacy, the research aims to understand the challenges these communities face in accessing clean and reliable water. Comprehensive data were collected through on-site observations and surveys, focusing on water supply infrastructure, disruption frequency, and existing systems' sustainability. The study reveals that most residents rely on hill water delivered via gravity systems, facing significant issues related to distance, water quality, and system durability. The findings highlight the urgent need for improved water management strategies and infrastructure enhancements to ensure a sustainable water supply for these communities, ultimately improving their water security and overall well-being.
