Multi-Level Backup Link Architecture for SRv6 Network Fault Recovery
In recent years, segment routing IPv6(SRv6) technology is usually used in cross-domain network communication fields to achieve end-to-end communication, but network links often fail. The traditional method of recovery in the forwarding layer includes directly sending a new link or switching to the backup link that is reserved in advance. However, the time limit for failure recovery of the above method is relatively slow. In order to make the faulty SRv6 network recovery quickly, this article designs a multilevel protection backup link architecture. According to the characteristics of SRv6 network head node that can plan path flexibly and SRv6 application scenarios are diversified, the pre-issued backup path rules are stored and effective according to the architecture relationship. This architecture can simplify the processing flow of forwarding layer for backup links during failure recovery, and steadily reduce the failure recovery time of forwarding layer. The experimental results show that the use of this architecture in the forwarding layer can reduce the duration of the forwarding layer by approximately 90%. Moreover, the packet loss rate, delay and bandwidth of the link after the failure recovery are consistent with those before the failure, and the fault recovery effect is also very good.
