Derivation of States and Requirement Models using Finite State Machine (FSM) for Completeness of Combat Scenarios

Effective decision-making and timely actions in combat are critical to the success of military operations, requiring swift and accurate responses to complex environments and diverse situations. Combat simulations are essential tools for planning, training, and analyzing military operations. The integration of artificial intelligence can significantly enhance the realism and effectiveness of these simulations. Accurately modeling combat scenarios requires a comprehensive representation of various combat states and interactions, supported by robust simulation requirements. This study aims to develop a state-based model utilizing Finite State Machines (FSM) to ensure the completeness of combat scenarios by systematically capturing all possible combat states and transitions. By analyzing state transition patterns and decision-making elements, this study defines and formalizes the necessary simulation models. The proposed FSM- based framework ensures the integrity of combat scenarios, enabling precise modeling of com- bat interactions and decision-making processes. This approach improves real-time responsiveness in battlefield simulations and enhances the overall accuracy of decision-making and action planning. The resulting models are expected to provide a foundational tool for advanced com- bat simulation systems, increasing the reliability and completeness of real-time combat simulations through structured state representation and transitions.
