Más allá de la forma: de la biomorfosis a la biomímesis para una arquitectura sostenible
This article examines the evolution of mimesis in architecture, from the imitation of natural forms (biomorphosis) to the emulation of natural processes and functions (biomimicry), in the context of the current ecosocial crisis. Through a critical and historical review, key points for a reflexive and contextual mimesis in architectural design are identified. It is emphasized that this expanded vision offers valuable perspectives for more sustainable and regenerative architecture, overcoming purely aesthetic approaches and incorporating efficiencies of natural systems into architectural solutions. The text proposes architectural strategies that emulate natural processes, from biomimetic and participatory design to ecological and feminist approaches. This seeks a comprehensive socio-ecological transformation of architecture, addressing environmental and social challenges through regenerative and emancipatory built forms. It recognizes the importance of diverse and inclusive perspectives to advance and foster sustainable architecture.
