Marina Vega de la Iglesia, una agente de la Resistencia francesa en la España de Franco

Marina Vega de la Iglesia Sánchez (Castro-Urdiales, Cantabria, 1923-Madrid, 2011) was an agent of the French Resistance between 1940 and 1944. She is the only Spanish woman to join the Free French Forces (FFL) to operate within Spain and was proposed for the Legion of Honor. Her father had been head of the Radical Party in Madrid, congressman and magistrate of the Court of Constitutional Guarantees. Educated with the republican elite, she joined the Spanish section of the Resistance, but after being discovered in 1944, she went into exile in France where she received the highest military medals. In 1950 she returned to her country again, blending into Francoist society, but without abandoning her political commitment until her death in 2011.
