THE PROBLEM OF PEDAGOGICAL ABILITIES IN FOREIGN PSYCHOLOGY IN THE 1980S

The article discusses the problem of pedagogical abilities in psychology. Foreign publications of the 1980s on this issue are analysed. The following research areas are highlighted: abilities as conditions for the formation of teachers’ readiness for professional activity; various types of pedagogical abilities; self-efficacy as an integral characteristic of the qualities and abilities of a teacher. Theoretical and methodological foundations for developing the problem of pedagogical abilities in foreign psychology of the studied period are determined - sociological, organisational, pedagogical and psychological approaches.
