PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS IN THE FORMATION OF INTERCULTURAL ADAPTATION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY

The article analyses psychological factors of the formation of foreign students’ inter- cultural adaptation at university. The authors note the importance to consider the factors of effectiveness of intercultural adaptation, various aspects of emotional stability development in foreign students within the university educational process, to define forms and methods of interaction with them in the process of psychological and pedagogical support of students at university, as well as conditions for the implementation of foreign students’ adaptation process, ensuring quality indicators of professional training of foreign students at university. The authors conclude that there is a need for socio-psychological support of foreign students at university, which can become an effective way of their intercultural adaptation in a new socio-cultural educational space. This support implies university work in such areas as the formation of social competencies and psychological personal characteristics, as well as levelling of unfavourable aspects of behaviour.
