Anesthesiology
Postoperative nausea and vomiting is a key driver of unplanned admission and patient satisfaction after surgery. In this issue of Anesthesiology, Douville et al. hypothesized that genetics may contribute to the overall risk for this complication. In an accompanying editorial, Kovacheva and Saxena discuss the contribution of polygenic risk scores and their impact on overall postoperative nausea and vomiting risk. Cover illustration: A.
