Enantioselective Synthesis of the Aggregation Pheromone of Odontothrips loti (Haliday) and Its Stereoisomers

Abstract Odontothrips loti (Haliday) is a thrip pest of leguminous plants. The aggregation pheromone of this pest and its stereoisomers have been synthesized. The central of this strategy involved enantioselective cross‐coupling of racemic benzyl 2‐bromopropanoate with alkenyl Grignard, Evans’ chiral auxiliaries and Yamaguchi esterification of chiral 2‐methylbutanoic acid with chiral lavandulol.
