CONCEPÇÕES DOS PROFISSIONAIS DO SISTEMA SOCIOEDUCATIVO ACERCA DAS INTERVENÇÕES JUNTO AOS ADOLESCENTES EM MEDIDA DE INTERNAÇÃO

National surveys of professionals in the juvenile justice system indicate that there are more obstacles than facilitators in their daily work. In addition, the guidelines available in official documents about the juvenile justice system are general and do not offer clear indications about the content and methods of intervention based on scientific evidence. This study sought to contribute to the understanding of this universe, identifying, describing and analyzing the conceptions of professionals who work directly in detention institutions, about interventions in this area. To this end, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 38 professionals, from different positions, in juvenile justice system units of internment and semi-liberty, in the state of São Paulo. Thematic analysis was used on the content of the interviews, with the help of the Iramuteq software. Four classes, subdivided into two subcorpus, were generated: A - The causes of involvement and reoffending, with Class 1 - Between the adolescent and the professional and Class 4 - Emphasis on the family; and B - Professional activities, with Class 2 - Psychosocial area and Class 3 - Educational area. The data were interpreted in light of the Risk-Need-Responsiveness Model and the current literature on the socio-educational system, indicating that the professionals' perception is partially aligned with the evidence regarding aspects that guarantee the effectiveness of the system, as it does not achieve a complex understanding of the phenomenon with which it works, denoting a low level of specialization in its care and the presence of a punitive bias.
