The Artistic-educational Component in the Creation of the Graphic Artist Alexei Colîbneac Expressed THrough the Prism of the „Fall in Sin” Cycle

The article concerns the creation of plastic-graphic artist Alexei Colîbneac from an artistic, stylistic aspect and from the angle of the educational component. The artist paid special attention to book graphics predestined for children and the series of linocuts entitled „The Fall into Sin” (1970–1996). In the article, the informative character of the graphic cycle “The Fall into Sin” is determined, an attempt to describe the religious subject from a philosophical aspect is proposed. The artist is interested in the issue of education and the promotion of general human values with a moral character through graphics. The theme of his creation includes subjects from different genres of graphics – portrait, landscape, genre composition, still life, etc., made in various techniques and plastic media – etching, aquatint, linocut, color linocut, watercolor, gouache, pastel, ink, etc., realistic and abstract forms, narrative and philosophical content.
