Aviation in Interwar Chișinău

Based on unique historical sources, archives, the press, the author presents an innovative component of the infrastructure, mobility and innovative communication of the era, namely the use of aviation in Chișinău between the two world conflagrations. The history of the aviation field, coming from the military area, was analyzed. The research field included financial investments, infrastructure development, technology, central and local government involvement in the evolution of civil aviation. The subject of the routes, the time of the flight, the price of the plane tickets, the social categories that called on the aviation services was addressed. A special emphasis was placed on the personalities who manifested themselves in the field of aviation. It was highlighted that the international aspect, of improving relations between states, implicitly also targeted the design of new aeronautical routes. We find the application of commercial marketing in the targeted field oriented and adapted to the demands and strategies to attract both the consumer internal as well as external.
