Specific features of rock behaviour in underground mining of ore deposits
The article is focused on specifying the principles of geo-use based on assessment and accounting of geomechanical features of rock behaviour in underground mining of ore deposits. One of the issues in mining of mineral raw materials is insufficient consideration of the structural factors when designing the ore mining technology parameters. The objective of the article is to systematize the main provisions of environmental protection and resource-saving geo-use as applied to the underground mining of ore deposits. The article presents the results of generalizing the theory and practice, as well as an analysis of experimental data obtained and a forecast of their possible application in the underground mining. Principles of geo-use are summarized based on accounting of geomechanical features of rock formations. The paper provides information regarding the theory of subsoil development processes, management of the rock mass state and ensuring the stability of excavations in discrete rocks. The strength condition is formulated for locking the structural rock blocks. Options are discussed of combining mining methods with isolation, backfilling and leaching of ores. A technology is recommended with delivery of the highest grade ores to the surface and processing of the rest in the underground blocks, in which the flow of solutions is arranged and controlled with prevention of their contact with the biosphere. Accounting for structural factors when setting the parameters of ore mining methods contributes to humanization of the processes of environmental and resource-saving geo-management.
