A framework for developing mining emergency drill systems leveraging industrial metaverse technology
Digital mine drills are one of the key research areas in the realm of digital mining. Traditional mine drills, constrained by their formalized, uniform models and the absence of a comprehensive real-time feedback optimization control system, have led to a decline in emergency response capabilities among various personnel. As an integral part of digital mine, the construction of digital mine drill systems can effectively facilitate the transition from operational theories to tangible outcomes in digital mining. This paper proposes a metaverse-based Mine Emergency Drill System (MEDS) and outlines its technical architecture and key features. It then explores the capabilities and initial operational modes of the MEDS, detailing five critical technologies that support the metaverse-based system. These technologies enhance the emergency response capabilities of personnel through intuitive and comprehensive visualization of mine disasters and real-time management of the drill process. The metaverse-based MEDS is poised to significantly improve emergency drill outcomes, laying a solid foundation for the construction of digital mines.
