GEOGRAPHY OF RISK: ATTRIBUTIVE ANALYSIS AND MAPPING OPEN DATA OF ROSFINMONITORING
An analysis and mapping of manifestations of extremism is presented based on the open electronic resource “List of organizations and individuals in relation to which there is information about their involvement in extrem- ist activities or terrorism” of the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring (Rosfinmonitoring). The List data makes it possible to analyze the gender and age composition of these individuals, establish their localization and concentration in the regions of Russia, and sort the list of persons by type of crime: involvement in extremist crimes (EC) and terrorist crimes (TC). Methods of digital humanities, in-depth structuring, attribute analysis and mapping of data in the form of point objects were used. The study showed that the vast majority of individuals on the List are involved in crimes of a terrorist nature; a high level of involvement of women in these crimes was noted, and the age groups most susceptible to radicalization were identified; mapping of the List data shows the concentration of risk points in the south of the country, mainly in the North Caucasus, in the Republic of Dagestan; The distribution of risk points on the map clearly demonstrates the areas where measures to prevent extremism and terrorism are most needed. The study is relevant from the point of view of predictive analytics and prevention of extremism and terrorism; a conclusion was made about the feasibility of developing a geographic information system based on Rosfinmonitoring data to conduct spatial analysis in con- junction with a comprehensive assessment of the socio-economic and ethnopolitical situation in the regions.
