DISSOCIATIVE ELECTRON CAPTURE BY 9,10-ANTHRAQUINONE DERIVATIVES IN THE GAS PHASE
A number of substituted derivatives of 9,10-anthraquinone were studied using dissociative electron capture spectroscopy. The most intense channel observed in the mass spectrum of negative ions are long-lived molecular ions, the average lifetimes of which relative to electron autoabsorption have been measured. The interpretation of the experiment was carried out using quantum chemical calculations and statistical physics methods. A linear correlation was found between the electron affinities estimated from data on the lifetimes of molecular ions and DFT calculations.
