Assessment of the proposed BUSabay commuter mobile application using Six thinking hats
BUSabay, a mobile app designed as the ultimate Filipino commuter's companion, aimed to revolutionize bus travel in Metro Manila. Boasting real-time bus tracking, offline maps, comprehensive route and schedule information, an e-wallet system, and even a lost-and-found feature, BUSabay aspired to make public transportation smoother and more efficient. This study delved into the app's usability, user satisfaction, and market potential through surveys, statistical analyses, and strategic planning tools like SWOT, TOWS, and Six Thinking Hats. Focusing on Metro Manila, the research revealed BUSabay's strengths are its user-friendly interface, reliable real-time tracking, and convenient e-wallet functionality. However, areas for improvement surfaced, particularly regarding user satisfaction with data accuracy for less frequent routes, accessibility for non-tech-savvy individuals, and a need to expand the app's reach beyond its current user base. Additionally, the study underscored the importance of proactively addressing potential threats from competitors and operational disruptions. By implementing the proposed strategies, which included enhanced data accuracy, broader route coverage, accessibility features, and targeted marketing campaigns, BUSabay had the potential to solidify its position as a leading public transportation solution in Metro Manila. This could significantly improve user satisfaction, attract a broader audience, and ultimately transform the bus commuting experience for millions of Filipinos, making it smoother, more efficient, and less stressful.
