ENDURING BENEFITS OF WIDESPREAD TMS IMPLEMENTATION: ANALYSIS OF DATA IN PENNINE CARE NHS FOUNDATION
are located in bigger cities in our region, the catchment area for these cities is large and patients in surrounding communities often travel for medical care.Traditional TMS involves treatment 5 days per week, making travel from a distance a barrier for many patients. Methods: Reviewed all patients seen at Oasis TMS in 2023 with regard to distance of residence from the clinic.Patient distance from the clinic ranged from 2-115 miles one way.Examined any connection to response or remission from Major Depression.Examined drop-out rates by distance from the clinic as well. Conclusions: For Oasis TMS patients seen in 2023, distance from the clinic did not significantly impact treatment response or remission rates.Drop-out rates also did also differ significantly due to distance from the clinic.Further research/treatment models are needed to explore better access to TMS for patients living in rural areas.
