Nonuniform Rational B-Splines, Computervision, and Me

This article is my recollection of and perspective on how the design curve and surface mathematics of nonuniform rational B-splines was developed. It also covers how Computervision used these advanced mathematics to help make it probably the leading CAD software products company from the 1970s until the mid-1980s.
