While Dr Roland Staples (FAU Nuremberg) raised the fundamental question at the preconference seminar of this year's DKVF as to whether the initiators of the innovation fund were using the wrong definition of the term innovation, Prof. Dr Holger Pfaff (IMVF Cologne) and Prof. Dr Jochen Schmitt (ZEGV Dresden) presented their findings. Dr Jochen Schmitt (ZEGV Dresden) presented a proposal for a new evidence-based approach in healthcare policy in the 'State of the Art' session by explaining how to move from 'theoretically best to practically best evidence'.
