Comparing the efficacy of two different types of dressings on patients with pressure injuries in long-term care facilities
• As populations age and the prevalence of comorbidities rises, the incidence of pressure injuries in long-term care facilities is emerging as a significant clinical concern. These injuries not only adversely affect patient health but also contribute to escalating healthcare costs. • Nanosilver calcium alginate dressings effectively manage wound infections, reduce bacterial colonies, and improve wound conditions, reducing dressing changes in pressure injury patients. • This rigorously validated study offers a strategy for hard-to-heal pressure injuries in long-term care, useful for researchers, educators, and policymakers in improving wound care quality.
