ACESSIBILIDADE NOS CONSULTÓRIOS: COMO TORNAR OS CONSULTÓRIOS ODONTOLÓGICOS ACESSÍVEIS PARA PACIENTES SURDOS, INCLUINDO PLACAS E SINAIS EM LIBRAS
Inclusion, accessibility and trust are fundamental pillars for truly effective and humanized dental care. In the context of deaf patients, the presence of professionals trained in Libras becomes essential, because communication is one of the most important elements during the consultation. Whether through oral or sign language, dialogue is indispensable to understand the needs and expectations of the patient, guiding the professional in their conduct. In addition, this interaction promotes a welcoming environment, strengthening mutual trust between patient and dentist, which is crucial for the success of treatment and for building a respectful and inclusive relationship. For this research, the electronic databases: U.S National Library of Medicine (PubMed), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and the book Brazilian sign language: linguistic studies - Ronice Muller de Quadros were used. In addition, two descriptors were used for the composition of the search key, being the following (MeSH/DeCS). After the research, several needs were found related to the inclusion of deaf care in dental offices, a theme that still needs advances in studies and presents a lack in its implementation.
