DEMOGRAPHIC DEVELOPMENT AND EMPLOYMENT WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE INDICATIVE SYSTEM SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The article examines the study of labor potential reproduction processes (de-mographic component and employment component) based on the empirical data from the National Set of Sustainable Development Goal Indicators. Relevant indicators were selected, and partial and general indicators of demographic development and employment development were calculated in the context of sustainable development goals. The subjects of the North-West Federal District of the Russian Federation were chosen as pilot regions. The research results revealed significant imbalances between the subjects of the North-West Federal Dis-trict, both in terms of individual indicators and the overall level of labor potential develop-ment. Moreover, the presence of intra-regional disparities was established, where the same region demonstrates divergent dynamics across various components. In conclusion, possible directions for future scientific research aimed at developing theoretical understanding of labor potential in the regions in line with the sustainable development concept are outlined.
