RESOURCE EFFICIENCY AS THE COMPONENT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The article discusses the importance of resource efficiency as a key compo-nent of sustainable development in the Russian Federation. It analyzes the main factors influ-encing the prospects for improving resource efficiency, such as the implementation of inno-vative technologies, international cooperation, and government support. Special attention is given to legislative initiatives, including Federal Law No. 261-FZ "On Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Improvement," as well as national projects "Ecology" and "Digital Econ-omy." The article highlights the significance of integrating intelligent resource management systems, developing renewable energy sources, and fostering a "green" industry to reduce dependence on fossil resources and improve environmental conditions. The prospects for in-ternational cooperation, particularly Russia's participation in the Paris Agreement, and its role in achieving sustainable development goals are also considered.
