INVESTIGATION OF THE CONVERGENCE OF INTER-DISTRICT MATRICES CORRESPONDENCE IN THE GRAVITATIONAL MODEL

This article describes a research aimed at studying the convergence patterns of the gravity model used for zone-zone matrices calculating. A general description of ap-proaches to the gravity model calculations used in transport and urban modeling and related to the class of probabilistic methods is presented. The description contains information about the history of such models, the scope of application, the main advantages and disadvantages, and the sources of initial information. The article presents the results of matrices calculations for seven cities with different territorial areas, geometric shape of the territory and planning structure. Comparative graphs of the gravitaty model convergence for the studied cities are presented. Conclusions are presented about the main patterns affecting the number of itera-tions when using the gravity model.
