PROSPECTS FOR THE FORMATION OF THE POLYCENTRIC STRUCTURE OF THE ST. PETERSBURG AGGLOMERATION

The article presents the sectoral structure for zone of satellites of the St. Pe-tersburg city agglomeration, considers the development of methodological foundations and suggests methodological approaches to identify urban areas with signs of subcenters in the implementation of a polycentric model of the agglomeration development. It is demonstrated that the application of mathematical modeling of passenger flows contributes to solving the problem of urban areas differentiation. The research carried out confirms greater sustainabil-ity and competitiveness of the polycentric agglomeration development.
