The article examines the problems of accuracy in determining metric information (linear and area characteristics) in order to change one coordinate system to another in land and property cadaster. The purpose of the analysis is to study the changes in characteristics of land plots during transformation and re-calculation of coordinates using a cartographic basis and determining the metric distortions that can arise at the boundaries.
