ON THE ROLE OF TOURISM IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RUSSIAN REGIONS

Based on the analysis of statistical data, foreign and domestic scientific publications, the role of tourism as a "driver" of socio-economic development is considered on the example of national econ-omies of the world and Russian regions. The complex of sectoral, territorial and regional goal-setting and linking the tourist "mission" of the region with a comprehensive vision of the development of the national socio-economic space is discussed. The article contains recommendations on methodological support for the justification of the "mission" of tourism in regional development.
