Addiction degree from Georgetown marries science and policy
Under the auspices of Regina LaBelle, an elite academic program conferring a Master of Science in Addiction Policy and Practice has now graduated three classes. LaBelle, who started the program at Georgetown University after leaving the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy in 2017, was responding to the need for a science‐based program. “Georgetown was looking for something to address a public need,” LaBelle told ADAW . “A lot of policy is based on stigma, or on someone's personal experience, and not on science.”
