Decoupling for Magneto-Electric Dipole MIMO Antenna Array by Using Meta-strip
A low coupling wideband magneto-electric (ME) dipole multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna array is proposed. The proposed array is composed of 8 ME dipole elements, ground plane, metal wall and meta-strips. Each ME dipole is designed under the ground plane and metal walls are constructed around the ME dipole, which is to increase the gain of each ME dipole. The designed meta-strips are modeled on the substrate which is loading under the proposed antenna array for decoupling between each ME dipole. The simulated results show that the proposed antenna has achieved -10-dB fractional bandwidth of 24% (4.4-5.6 GHz) and realized low coupling (less than -18 dB) over the achieved bandwidth. Mover, the proposed antenna array has gained good directional property.
