Design of a Wide Band Antenna with Cross-Finger Structure for Covering 2.6GHz-20GHz
A wide band antenna element is designed to achieve 3-20 GHz wideband impedance matching and its performance is investigated herein. By employing a modified cross-finger structure and two resistive frequency selective surfaces (RFSS), the antenna impedance matching has been improved, where the presented cross-finger structure is functioned as a coupling capacitor to mitigate inductive effects. Also, two resistive frequency selective surfaces are used for effectively improving the matching and reducing the Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) at specific frequencies, which are well designed according to the required frequencies. Simulation result indicates that the VSWR is less than 2 within the frequency range of 2.65 to 20 GHz.
